Over 300 guardians take oath against child marriage

Over 300 guardians of the students of Sonapur High School in Bagatipara upazila of Natore have pledged not to marry off their children at an early age.

UNO Nasrin Banu presided over the programme, held on the school premises on Tuesday where  lawmaker Adv Abul Kalam Azad was present as chief guest.

The UNO made the guardians aware about the disadvantages and problems of early marriage.

Abul Kalam MP urged the mothers to remain alert so that their children do not get involved in terrorism and drug addiction.

Upazila education officer Ahad Ali, head teacher of the school Ansar Ali Mandol, Dayarampur UP chairman Mahabubur Rahman and some local politicians were present in the programme.
