10th convocation of RU postponed over minister’s illness

The 10th convocation of Rajshahi University, which was scheduled to be held on March 24, has been postponed because of Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid’s illness.

RU Public Relation administrator Prof Provash Kumar Karmaker confirmed the matter on Tuesday at 11:30am after the planning committee meeting of the convocation.

Prof Provash Kumar said that Nurul Islam Nahid was scheduled to be presided over the 10th convocation, but due to his eye operation on March 14, he has confirmed us not to be present at the convocation programme.

An emergency meeting of the planning committee held on Tuesday morning while everybody gave his opinion in favour of postponing the programme.

The fresh date of the convocation will be announced soon after talking with the chancellor and president Abdul Hamid, Provash Kumar also added.
