Rohingya man hammered to death

A Rohingya man was beaten to death by hammer at Kutupalang camp in Cox’s Bazar on Friday morning.

The dead was identified as Md Hakim, 30, son of Nur Muhammadof  block D-4 in the camp.

Additional Superintendent (ASP) of Cox’s Bazar police, Afrazul Haque Tutul confirmed the matter.

According to police, Md Rafiq, a resident of the block, engaged in an altercation with Hakim over the presence of Hakim’s wife at on Thursday night. Later Rafiq beat Hakim maliciously with a hammer and leaving him dead on the spot.

Police, however, detained one Shamsu in this connection.

The body was sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

Police hunt is on to arrest the main accused, said the ASP.
