Chitchats of Nidahas Trophy: Part-1

Sri Lankan have been celebrating the 70th year of their independence this year, who incorporated cricket in their celebration merriments. They invited warmly their neighboring two cricket super powers Bangladesh and India to receive hospitality. But Nidahas Trophy created much out of field stories, tar-sardonic experiences and some subject matters for long term rumours. The external affairs of the cricket battles, which dropped cricket behind are analyzed here.

Shakib's calling off his players- Much controversial 19th over against Sri Lanka on March 16 repeated another nuisance to some critics while brave protection to many, which is Shakib Al Hasan's hectic decision to call Mahmudullah and Rubel back from the wicket. Before Shakib, it happened thrice in the international cricket. Cricket statistician Mohandas Menon reminded by a Tweet after the incident that former Indian captain Bishan Singh Bedi, who called off his batsmen against Pakistan in the Sahiwal ODI in 1978 when Sarfraz Nawaz was allowed to bowl bouncers without any warning from the umpires.

Another previous Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar called his players off in 1981 after giving a wrong LBW in favour of Dennis Lillie while Sri Lankan ex-skipper Arjuna Ranatunga also left the ground to protest against umpire Daryl Hair called several deliveries of Muttiah Muralitharan 'no ball' in 1994.

Cobra Dance vs  Nagin Dance- Tigers spinner Nazmul Islam always celebrate his wickets in a serpent way hooding his arms and curving his body. But his celebration theme earned more popularity than him, more viral than the Gangnam style dance.

International media got the style while Nazmul Opu had been capped for Bangladesh national side by stand-in skipper Mahmudullah Riyad. Riyad welcomed Opu in the international cricket with Cobra dance, which Opu continued after getting his international wickets against Sri Lanka.

The dance became symbol of mocking reply after Gunathilaka's 'Cobra reaction' targeting Opu in Sylhet last month.

But Nidahas Trophy got 'Nagin' brand after Mushfiqur Rahim's 'nagin' celebration reaching a mammoth target of 215 in Lions' den. Every cricket related chap more or less affected by the 'Cobra celebration' flue, which started with the Akila Dananjaya's cobra dance after caught Shakib Al Hasan earlier.

Both Sri Lankan and Indian fans picked the style to celebrate, which even observant in the celebration of the India's trophy win. TV commentator and Indian ex-captain Sunil Gavaskar didn't forget to celebrate Rohit Sharma's batting against Bangladesh with a 'Nagin Dance'.
