One of the teachers of Dakra Degree college of Charghat in Rajshahi, who were kidnapped on Saturday morning allegedly by law enforces, has come back, while the other teacher is still untraced.
Charghat police station officer-in-charge (OC) Nazrul Islam confirmed the matter.
OC said, He has heard the news of kidnapped Bazlul's return. The matter will be open after his arrival in the police station. Police is searching another teacher, the OC added.
Earlier on Saturday morning, two teachers of Dakra Degree college were allegedly kidnapped by law enforces in front of Anupampur high school at around 10am.
The college authority verbally informed the Charghat police station about the matter.
The kidnapped teachers are Bazlul Islam, lecturer of Political Science and Shafiqur Rahman Uzzal, lecturer of English Department of the college.
Quoting eyewitnesses Dakara College Principal Abdur Rauf said Bazlul and Shafiqur were going to Charghat by motorcycle. When they reached Anupampur High School on Charghat-Arani road, some persons, standing in a black microbus, blocked them introducing them as law enforces. Within a few minutes they took them to the microbus and went away.
Inspector (Investigation) of Rajshahi District Detective Branch police Khalid Hossain said he heard the matter. But the detective police did not arrest them, he confirmed.
Charghat Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nazrul Islam said, Police started work on the basis of verbal complaints.
Captain of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-5) Mahabubul Alam said RAB did not conduct any such operation in the area. So he did not know the issue.
