Police arrested a Secondary Education Officer from Moktarpur area of Charghat Upazilla in Rajshahi on Tuesday night while the arrestee was drinking phensidyl.
The arrested was identified as Saidur Rahman, Secondary Education Officer of Chatmohor Upazilla of Pabna.
Saidur was then sent to jail through the court on Wednesday afternoon.
Charghat Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nazrul Islam said, on Tuesday night, police conducted an operation and detained Saidur while he was drinking phensidyl.
Later, after being informed the senior authority of Pabna District Education Office sent Saidur to jail custody on Wednesday afternoon.
Locals said the detainee Saidur Rahman used to come to Moktarpur area in Charghat since long before and took drugs along with the drug peddlers.
