Nearly three weeks have elapsed since a number of girls were reportedly harassed during a rally in Dhaka on March 7 and the  law enforcement agencies, have made no headway in the sensational  incident probe. There has been no visible progress in a case filed over the incident.
Police said they collected CCTV clips from surrounding Banglamotor areas but failed to identify and arrest the accused. Police said   they were trying to collect more CCTV clips to identify and arrest the accused.
A case was filed against 15-20 unidentified people for sexual assault at Bangla Motor in Dhaka on Mar 7.  The father of a college girl who was sexually assaulted at Banglamotor filed the case   under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.
However, police are yet to find out which police officer rescued her and helped her to get on a bus, he said. Police have recorded a statement of the student, sources said.
Earlier, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said law enforcers collected CCTV clips from spots where some women and girls had fallen prey to sexual harassment on that day, but no one has been yet been identified despite several complaints filed by some of the victims.
The victim alleged that she was attacked by a group of men on their way to a public rally organised by the ruling Awami League at the Suhrawardy Udyan on Mar 7.
A post by a teenage girl, who said she was sexually assaulted in the city's Bangla Motor area by men heading towards the rally, went viral on Facebook later in the day, triggering uproar.
Several other women reported similar incidents and some of them took to
the social media to share their experiences of harassment. According to media reports, women and girls were harassed in at least six different locations on that day.
A  high official of  Detective Branch official preferring anonymity told The Daily Observer on Friday that "As thousands of people joined the rally, it is very difficult for us to identify those who were involved in the crimes. "
He, however, added that they were trying to identify those involved.
