RUET bus driver hacked to death

A bus driver of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) was hacked to death by miscreants around 10pm on Monday.

The deceased Abdus Salam, 55, was resident of Devisinghpara in Rajshahi city.

He lived in the RUET staff quarters.

Shahadat Hossain Khan, officer in-charge (OC) of Motihar Police Station, said some miscreants attacked Salam and hacked him to death while he was returning home after leaving the bus in RUET.

Locals rescued Salam and rushed him to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where on duty doctors declared him dead. Injury marks were found in his head and body.

Mahbub Alam, investigation officer of Motihar Police Station, said police is investigating the matter.
