Farmer killed in lightning strike

A farmer was killed by a lightning strike during a storm in Sabazpur area of Puthia upazilla in Rajshahi district on Monday mg.

The deceased was identified as Yakub, 40, a resident of Naodapara area in the upazilla.

Locals said a thunderbolt struck Yakub while he was spraying poison in his brinjal field, leaving him dead on the spot.
