The arrestees are RUET BCL deputy law secretary Rakib Bari Prottoy and activist Akash Das. Both are Civil Engineering 15th batch students.

Motihar police sub-inspector Shahabul Islam said two people were arrested in connection with the explosion and vandalism case. They are the supporters of RUET BCL president Naimur Rahman Nibir.

On March 8, Nibir group attacked on the general secretary Chowdhury Mahfuzur Rahman Tipu group in Hamid Hall, leaving 8 people injured. Valuable goods, including laptops, mobile, were looted, rooms were vandalised, and crude bombs were exploded during the attack.

After the incident, BCL central committee announced suspension of activities of the RUET BCL on that day.

Meanwhile, after the suspension of the RUET BCL committee, on the general secretary group, BCL's activities in the campus have become stagnant. Students are saying that the campus safety and normal education programs are also affecting.

BCL activists alleged that since the suspension of the committee, the general secretary Topu group took position on the campus, but the president group is not seen on the campus regularly.
