A school teacher who fell in love with his student allegedly has left the area in Bagha upazila of Rajshahi three days ago.
Local people of that area were burst into anger after hearing the matter which forced the school committee to suspend the teacher.
Zakir Hussain, an English teacher of Eidgah Bazar Girls High School in the upazila, eloped with a CLass X student of this school last Monday.
Confirming the matter, upazila nirbahi officer Shaheen Reza said punitive measures will be taken by the upazila administration against the teacher.
The school committee has expelled the teacher temporarily, said Abdul Malek, headmaster of the school, adding that, a show cause notice had been served to him and he was asked to reply within seven days.
In case of no reply to the notice, we will sack him permanently, added the headmaster.
The phone of the teacher found switched off while trying to contact him.
