Footbridge construction at Singra inaugurated

A foot over bridge will be built near the high way bus stand area of Singra upazila in Natore.

M Zunaid Ahmed Palok, Minister for Information and Communication Technology, inaugurated the construction work of the bridge formally on May 25.

Palok said Bridges minister Obaidul Quader came at Singra in the month of August last year when he promised to Singra people that a footbridge will be built at that point to save the people from road accident.

The promise of the Minister is being materialised at Singra today, Palok added.
Palok further said eight thousand transport of various categories move through Natore-Bogra highway touching Singra upazila every day. The road is not wide enough and difficult to cross it for the passers-by. As a result people lose their valuable lives in accidents very often.

He said, a new project has been made for widening 60 kilometre part of Natore-Bogra highway at the cost of taka 660 crore. The work will begin soon because all preparation regarding the work is completed.

Md Zannatul Ferdous Mayor of Singra Pourashava, Ashraful Islam Executive Engineer Roads and Highways, local political leaders and journalists were present on the occasion, among others.
