By ignoring the daylong rain, Rajshahi city people flock the RDA market to buy their favorite Eid dresses despite fasting.
The vendors said that sale is less comparing to the number of people, and expect that the amount of selling will be increased within 2/3 days.
Although there was a lot of crowd in the city's RDA market Friday, but the other markets, including New Market witnessed a less crowd.
Many have come to the Eid shopping with their family. Many are doing Eid shopping with friends. They are moving from one store to another to find the favorite costume.
To buy the favorite clothes with the help of parents, the little Jasmine came from Sagarpara. Her mother, Juthi Akter, said, "I am still looking around. I cannot choose. We are looking for a cotton cloth, but 'whatever is available is silk or Georgette. She said that the price of the dresses for younger ones is comparatively higher.
Ayesha Akhter Liza, owner of RDA Liza fashion house, said the buyers got their Eid bonus. So they are coming to the market. But because of the delayed Eid, there is less sale. But many of them are buying kids clothes. After a few days they will buy their own clothes, she added.
Jannatul Ferdous, an employer of a non-government organization, came to complete her shopping with her families. She said, “I always wear cotton saree. At the desire of my daughters, we bought a cotton and silk saree.”
Boys’ pants, shirts, T-shirts are found cheaper in the city's Ganakpara market. So boys come with friends to buy these. Jeans and Panjabi are available for Tk 500-1500. T-shirts are available from Tk 200 to 600. Pant and shirt shops are seen a little more crowded.
There is no crowd of buyers in New Market. Most shopkeepers said that the Eid market is still not hit up. Mostly baby items are being sold. Girls' saris, three pieces and other clothes are also being sold, but the rate is very low.
The vendors said that Indian clothes in the first line of the demands of young women. Among the dresses, the Pracy, Mira, Ayesha Takia, Lehenga, without stitches ready-made dress are the most popular dresses. The price of these clothes ranges between one-and-a-half-thousand to five-thousand taka.
