A total of 12 students, including 9 students of Rajshahi University (RU) and 3 students of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET), will get Prime Minister Gold Medal -2017 in recognition of their outstanding results in honors examinations.
They are among 159 students selected from different universities of the country by University Grants Commission (UGC).
UGC has recently published the list gold medalists on its website through a gadget notification singed by UGC chairman Professor Abdul Mannan. Apart from this, RU and RUET Register Offices also confirmed the matter.
The nominated RU students are Easin Abul Fatah of Arabic department, Nazmul Hasan of Law faculty, Rashed Ahmed of Economics, Tasnim Jahan of Life Science and Micro Science Dept, Ajmeri Sultana Shimu of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Dept, Shah Ali of Information Systems Dept, Moumita Tasnim Meem of Materials Science and Engineering Dept, Amirun Nisa of Fisheries Dept, and Marvi of Medical College affiliated to Medical Faculty.
On the other hand, the 3 RUET students are -- Md. Golam Kibria of Mechanical Engineering, Nahin Ul Sadat of Electrical and Computer Engineering Dept and Mehedi Hasan of Civil Engineering Dept.
They will receive awards from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during the upcoming PM Gold Medal giving ceremony in Dhaka.
