Police obstructed the procession of Rajshahi city and district Jubo Dal units organized at around 11:30 pm on Wednesday in the divisional city in protest against the arrest of Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, Jubo Dal central General Secretary.

Jubo Dal's leaders and activists staged sit-in on the street, and later, the program ended with a short procession in front of Malopara's party office in the city.

Metropolitan and district leaders said Sultan Salahuddin Tuku has been arrested unfairly. They strongly condemned the incident and demanded release of Tuku immediately and warned that the power cannot be retained by torture.

Rajshahi Metropolitan Juba Dal President Abul Kalam Azad Sweet, presided over the meeting, where city unit General Secretary Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, Joint General Secretary Ruhul Amin, District Jubo Dal president Mujadded Jamani Sumon and general secretary Shafiqul Alam Somapto also spoke.
