Montu put on 5-day remand over Rajshahi bomb blast

Rajshahi district BNP general secretary Matiur Rahman Montu has been remanded in police custody for five days.

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court-3 Judge Zahidul Islam granted the remand on Monday morning.

Confirming the matter, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police spokesman Senior Assistant Commissioner (Sadar) Ifte Khayer Alam said, before the remand, Montu was sent to the court on Sunday. The court sent him to jail.

After the hearing on Monday, the court granted a five-day police remand.

Earlier on July 17, a crude bomb was blast during Bulbul's street rally at around 11pm in Rajshahi city's Sagarpara Battala area.

On the same night, Boalia Police Station sub-inspector (SI) Shamim Hossain filed a case under the Explosives Control Act against unidentified eight people.
