BNP's mayoral candidate Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul has claimed that fair elections are not possible if the army is not deployed in Rajshahi City.
Bulbul said this in a written speech at a press conference in Rajshahi city BNP office on Thursday.
Bulbul said none was arrested for violating election code of conduct. But the police continued to arrest BNP people. So far, about 150 leaders and workers have been arrested.
Awami League and BCL activists are vandalizing BNP offices, blocking campaign, and attacking workers. He brought allegations against Awami League mayor candidate and his party workers and supporters of violating election code of conduct.
Bulbul appealed to the Election Commission to free the arrested activists immediately, asked for voter's safety at the voting centers, and checking vote rigging.
BNP Standing Committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, chairperson's advisor Mizanur Rahman Minu and Prof Shahjahan, National Executive Committee member Ripon Roy Chowdhury, city BNP General Secretary Shafiqul Haq Milon, Rajshahi district BNP president Advocate Tofazzal Hossain Tapu were also present on the occasion.
