Condition of many roads in village area under Singra Upazila of Natore district has been pitiable for long time.
People's movement and their business activities are being hampered badly in those areas. Experienced quarters requested the authority to take necessary measures towards the repairing of those roads early.
At present, carpeting at many places of the roads has been washed away. As a result, large size of many pot holes appeared there. Besides, heavy rain of the last few days has turned the situation into worst position. Now it has become risky and unfit for use by both pedestrians and vehicular traffic.
The damaged roads are: Singra to Bansher bridge road, Jamtoly to Bamihal road, Ratal to Biash, Bingrame to Kholabaria, Ranipukur to Shalmara, Basua to Chalan Beel road and Teligrame to Baroihat road.
Ujjal Roy, a businessman of that area, said hundreds of pedestrians and vehicles move along the roads everyday with untold sufferings but the concerned officials do not look into the matter.
Biplob Hossain, another businessman of village Jamtoly, said that they cannot carry agriculture products comfortably using the roads because of bad conditions of the roads.
College student Enamul Haque said, ''I want immediate repairing of those damaged roads for the interest of the local people.''
Singra upazila Engineer Hasan Ali said the roads must be repaired after the rainy season.
