NATORE, Aug 4: Most of the rural roads in Singra Upazila are in deplorable condition for long.
As a result, people's movement and business activities are being seriously hampered.
Affected people requested the authority concerned to repair the roads as soon as possible.
Carpeting from many places of the roads has been removed, creating numerous potholes. Besides, during the last few days' rain worsened the situation. So, the roads are now riskier and more unfit for both pedestrians and vehicles.
The damaged roads are: Singra to Bansher Bridge, Jamtoli to Bamihal, Ratal to Biash, Bingram to Kholabaria, Ranipukur to Shalmara, Basua to Chalan Beel and Teligram to Baroihat.
A local trader Ujjal Roy said hundreds of passersby and vehicles are suffering much to cross the roads every day, but the concerned officials are not looking into the matter.
Another trader Biplob Hossain of Jamtoli Village said they cannot carry products easily as the roads have become deplorable.
A college student Enamul Haque demanded immediate repair of the roads for the sake of local people.
Upazila Engineer Hasan Ali said the roads will be repaired soon after the rainy season is over.
