Two children drown

Two children drowned in the Mathabhanga River in Gangni upazila of Meherpur on Monday morning.

Deceased Nusrat, 4, was the daughter of Mokbul Hossain and Tripti, 3, was the daughter of Ariful Islam. They both hailed from Bholadanga village.

Local people said the kids drowned while taking a bath in the river at about 9:30am.
Later, the family members found the floating bodies.

Gangni Police Station OC Horendra Nath Sarker said police were sent to the scene.
