A mobile court on Tuesday sentenced a former Rajshahi University student to one year imprisonment or fined Tk 30,000 for giving proxy in an admission test.

Earlier on the day, the RU authorities caught Munsur Rahman, 30, a former student of History Department, red-handed while giving proxy during the admission test for the session 2018-19, said proctor Prof Lutfor Rahman.

He said Munsur was held from an examination hall for his suspicious movement.

He appeared in the exam on behalf of another candidate--  Al-Amin.

Being informed, executive magistrate Rony Khatun went to the spot and handed down the judgement.

Later, Munsur was sent to jail.
