Saifuddin fills pace-bowling all-rounder vacuum

Newcomer Mohammad Saifuddin shone in back to back ODI matches against Zimbabwe. He played the fifty runs' innings in the first match during teams' need and delivered the most economic bowling spell on Sunday while he delivered the best bowling figure for Bangladesh in the second match on Wednesday.
Bangladesh have been feeling the necessity of a good finisher, who lost too many close matches in the last couple of years. Again, the hard hitting scarcity in the late middle order is another problem for Bangladesh to utilise the slog overs.
Sabbir Rahman had been doing well in the recent past but his performance dismay and personal scandals created dilemma for the team. Before Sabbir, Nasir Hossain showed promising character but had been dropped for similar backdrops. Mosaddek Hossain Shaikat also failed to prove his efficiency.
Bangladesh has been expecting to set any of Saifuddin, Soumya Sarkar and Ariful Haque at number seven. Saifuddin's batting in the first match showed Bangladesh the light of hope to get a good finisher.
In the pre-match press meet ahead of the second bilateral encounter, the skipper of Bangladesh ODI team Mashrafe Bin Mortaza also acknowledged the brilliance of Saifuddin. He said, "We have two lacking comparing to other international teams. One is a pace bowling all-rounder and the other is wrist spinner. Saifuddin had served the purpose of pace bowling all-rounder (in the first match)."
Saifuddin, the ambidextrous, became devastating with the right hand yesterday (on Wednesday). He hauled three Zimbabwe wickets delivering 10 overs conceding 45 runs, which is the best Tigers bowling figure of the day.
