Another defamation case was filed in a court in Rajshahi against former caretaker government adviser barrister Mainul Hosein for defaming journalist Masuda Bhatti on a TV talk show.
Rajshahi Jubo Mohila League vice president Zakia Parveen Swapna filed the case with Boalia Police Station in the morning on Sunday.
Chief Metropolitan Court Magistrate court took the case into account and summoned Mainul to appear before it on January 15, 2019.
During the talk-show 'Ekattorer Journal' on private TV channel Ekattor TV, on September 16, Masuda Bhatti asked Mainul, "You say you're there in the Jatiya Oikyafront as a citizen of the country but in social networking sites, many people are saying you're there as a representative of Jamaat."
Angered by the comment, Mainul said, "I'm thanking you for your audacity and I want to believe you as 'characterless'. There's no question about Jamaat link with me and what question you have asked is embarrassing for me."
