Bangladesh national cricket team conceded one of the worst Test defeats at home against Zimbabwe on Monday. Zimbabwe, the 10th in the ICC's Test team ranking won a red-ball game after 2013 and it's against Bangladesh entering their own cocoon, where Bangladesh already set almost 'unbeatable' trade mark against any opponent.
Many a circumstances and calamities can be reasoned for such disaster but at the end of the day a defeat means lose, reduction of ratting points. Whatsoever, the inexperienced batting line-up can be a rationale for such disgrace in absence of Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal.
Soumya Sarkar, the hard hitting batsman of Bangladesh had lark couple of days ago after scoring ton in the last of the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe that he always keeps his bag ready to join with national team. It is because he has been in the 'come and go' condition in the team for the last one year.
Soumya had been included in the Bangladesh national squad for the 3rd ODI of the newly-ended three-match limited over series against Zimbabwe since one-down batsman Fazle Rabbi failed with the bat. Rabbi's continuous failure had created early batting collapse for Bangladesh. Soumya came in and had hammered Zimbabwe bowlers to score 117 runs from 92 after sudden inclusion.
Before commencing the ODI series, Soumya led BCB XI in the solitary practice match against touring Zimbabwe and played unbeaten 102 runs' knock but dropped from 15-man ODI names.
Soumya, 25, also got sudden call in the midway of the Asia Cup and played in the final of the tournament and scored 33 runs batting at number eight.
Soumya Sarkar, has been spreading run fountain in the National Cricket League (NCL). He scored one century and three fifties with the bat alongside a fifer with the ball before announcing the Test squad against Zimbabwe. But he had been dropped surprisingly from the running Test squad.
However, the bitter maiden Test in Sylhet also revealed the areas of teams' weakness. One pacer policy, pace all-rounder Ariful's gloomy appearance with the ball and Nazmul Hasan Shanto's continuous failure can pave the way to include Soumya in the second Test squad.
Besides, experienced Tushar Imran and pacer Rubel are also have possibility to include in the squad if BCB selectors don't mind to alter in the existing troop.
