Mash pats twin records of glory

Bangladesh ODI skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza became the first Tigers bowler to deliver 10,000th ODI orb, who also enlisted as the Tigers captain to lead the team in maximum number of one-dayers with the match against Windies on Tuesday.
Mash came to ball in the 13th over of the innings and conceded four runs in the over that took him to that cornerstone. Shai Hope was the man to face the 10,000th departure from Mash's hand and it was dot ball. He delivered the complete spell of 10 overs in the record setting clash and found his counterpart Rovman Powell as his lone prey of the day conceding 52 runs.
Besides the antique record, by throwing the coin on the air, Mash wrote his name for another record. He went at top of the leading ODI captains chart for the country accompanying Habibul Bashar. Both led Bangladesh in 69 ODI matches till date.
Mash came out victorious in 39 times as skipper from his 69 matches and while former captain of Bangladesh and present team selector Habibul Bashar also led Bangladesh in 69 ODIs with 42% winning rate. Test and T20i skipper Shakib Al Hasan following Mash and Basher captaining Tigers in 50 ODIs, who has 23 wins.
Koushik, the surname of Mashrafe, captained Bangladesh in 28 T20i matches and brought 10 victories. Bangladesh reached the quarter final of the World Cup 2015 in Australia and New Zealand and played the semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 in England and Wales.
Mashrafe, 35, became the first cricketer of the country to play 200th ODI on Sunday and puffed up the day with the match winning bowling spell of three wickets for 30 runs delivering all 10 overs quota.
The Narail Express went under blade for seven times but still he is the sharpest weapon in the Tigers pace battery and the leading Bangladesh wicket taker of his format with 256 hunts.
