2 siblings burnt to death

Two brothers were burnt to death and their father was injured in a fire at their tin-shed house in Dhaka's Jatrabari area early Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Palash, 12, and Tushar, 7, sons of Iqbal Hossain.

Fire Service and Civil Defence duty officer Mizanur Rahman said that the fire originated from a mosquito coil in their house in Matuail Council Road area around 2:44am.

Being informed, two fire-fighting units rushed to the scene and doused the fire around 3:45am.

Later, they recovered the charred bodies of the brothers and rescued their burn injured father from the house.

Iqbal was admitted to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
