He came up with the remarks while speaking at a rally organized by Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) marking its 71st founding anniversary on the Dhaka University (DU) campus.
On the occasion BCL brought out a colourful rally after their programme at the base of Aparajeyo Bangla of DU
As the rally was proceeding towards High Court intersection two units of the organization locked in a clash over which one to go first leaving at least five activists injured.
Injured Aminul Islam, Ajijul Haque, Tushar, Nayon and Azim are activists of different BCL hall units of DU.
Of the injured, Aminul Islam who sustained head injury was undergoing treatment at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) while the rest others took primary treatment there.
Witnesses said a scuffle broke out between BCL activists of Jagannath hall unit of DU and Dhaka College unit when a rally, brought out marking the 71-founding anniversary of the organisation, reached near the Dhaka gate area.

Later, BCL activists of Surja Sen hall and Salimullah Muslim hall joined the Jagannath hall unit and chased the Dhaka College BCL men towards High Court intersection, said witnesses. The BCL men also allegedly obstructed journalists from taking photos of their scuffle.
President and General Sectary of BCL could not be reached over phone.
While addressing the programme, Tofail Ahmed, the AL lawmaker, expressed hope that Chhatra League will win the upcoming DUCSU polls.
"I believe, consensus among the BCL leadership would help the organisation to claim victory in the upcoming DUCSDU election."
Chhatra League was supposed to organise the programme on its founding anniversary, which is January 4, but postponed it after learning about the death of AL lawmaker Syed Ashraf.
Among others, AL Joint General Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak, former presidents Saifur Rahman Shohag, Liakat Shikder, Bahadur Bepari also attended the programme presided over by incumbent President Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon.
