2 chairmen candidates' offices vandalised

Election offices of two independent chairmen candidates of Meherpur's Gangni upazila Parishad have been valdalised.

Independent candidates Wasim Sajjad Likhon and Mojirul Islam alleged that Awami League candidates vandalised their offices on Monday night.

Local people said the followers of AL candidate MA Khaleq, also the general secretary of district unit AL, vandalised the furniture of the offices around 11pm.

They also assaulted supporters of the independent candidates at the office.

Being informed, Gangni Police Station SI Habibur Rahman visited the spot.

Gangni Police Station OC Harendra Nath Sarkar said legal action will be taken against the attackers after written complain.
