Four Bangladeshi fishermen picked up by Myanmar BGP

Mayanmar Border Guard Police (BGP) on Tuesday morning reportedly picked up four Bangladeshi fishermen from the Naf River in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar district.

The fishermen are: Azim Ullah Majhi, Mohammad Abdullah, Abul Kalam and Mohammad Hasan. They all hail from Shah Parir Dwip Bazar area in the upazila.

Local people said the fishermen went to the river for fishing.

After a while, a BGP team of Myanmar on a speedboat approached them and took the fishermen away at gunpoint.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)-2 commanding officer Faisal Hasan Khan confirmed the matter.
