Jubo League man beaten to death in Shariatpur

Deceased Imran Hossain Sarder, 34, was the joint secretary of Nashashon union Jubo League. He was a resident of Nashashon Sarderkandi village in the upazila.

Locals and witnesses said a group of miscreants attacked Imran with lethal weapons around 9.00pm on his way home from Nashashon Bazar. Hearing his cry for help, local people rescued and took him to Shariatpur Sadar Hospital.

Doctors referred him to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital following deterioration of his condition. But, Imran died on way to Dhaka, said Naria Police Station officer-in-charge Md. Monzurul Haque Akond.

A case was filed with the police station in this connection, the OC added.
