2 bullet-hit bodies recovered in Cox's Bazar

Police recovered two bullet-hit bodies from different areas in Sadar upazila of Cox's Bazar district on Monday morning.

The deceased were identified as Raja Mia, 45, a resident of Kharulia area, and Md Abdullah Al Rifat, 25, of Baharchhara area, in the upazila.
Both of them were accused in several cases, including of robbery, arms, drugs and snatching, said Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Police Station officer in-charge Farid Uddin Khandaker.

Hearing the sounds of firing in Kabita Chattar area along the beach, local people informed police, said OC Farid.

Later, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bullet-hit body of Raja. Police also recovered a firearm, two bullets and 200 Yaba tablets.

At the same, police recovered the bullet-hit body of Rifat from Kata Pahar area on the Bypass road, the OC said.

A firearm and two bullets were also recovered from the scene.

Police assumed that they might have been killed in the incidents of gunfight among the factions of drug traders over sharing of money, the OC added.
