 Zohra-Tara

(The Pole-Star)

Published : Saturday, 2 November, 2019 at 12:00 AM  Count : 395
With their inborn vanity & pride
Two Angels from the skies;
Challenged the Lord of Heaven;
That their unflinching loyalty to their Lord
Never to be deviated by any enticement in Heaven & Earth.

Lord of the Heaven took the challenge in wry smiles
And dispatched the challengers to the Earth of dust;
To prove themselves equal to their task.

Having descended from the Heaven
In human shape by a divine order,
They roamed on the surface of the Earth;
And relished the beauty of the Planet
Unique of its kind to their hearts contents;
With never forgetting their convictions
They had promised about.

Their prayer & devotion to the ordain
Of the Lord remained unshakeable so far.

On an opportune moment in their courses of trials & tribulations,
They came across Zohra --- a maiden curved voluptuous;
Whose beauty stood peerless without a match?
With the celestial beauty of Houris --- the Nymphs of Paradise.

By breaking their meditations
The Angels focused on tantalizing beauty of Zohra
And came close to her with candid love offering;
Forgetting their convictions
That they had revealed to their Lord.

The more their love offering with Zohra deepened
The more their meditation & devotion to the Lord lessened.

The Lord watched the changes in sardonic smiles
And asked the derailed Angels to explain their conducts;
The Angels imbibed in deep love of Zohra
Had no acceptable reply to offer.

With thundering rage & fury,
The Lord called back the Angels from the Earth
And punished them for breaking promise;
By hanging in limbo upside down.

With profound shame & grief
Zohra kicked off her heels
And made an upward journey by a divine order
To become a Star emitting her glow & radiance
In the North Skies as wonders of cosmic splendor.

She rises there with her refulgence & gleam
In the wee hour till the dawn breaks;
To help navigating voyagers in the roaring seas
Who call her by a name anew?
The Pole-star in the North Skies.

Zohra --- the Pole-Star shines in elegance
With her Elysian beauty & grace
Painted in the tapestry of the skies;
While two lovelorn Angels stay hung in limbo;
Only savoring the beauty of Zohra riveted in eyes;
With heaving long sigh in the distant skies;
Till the universe comes to an end
By cosmic cataclysm in the doomsday;
Leaving the Lord alone, with His Creation perished,
In inconceivable void;
Where Time & Space has no room to exist.
