Speakers at a roundtable dialogue, attended by Finance Minister AHM Mostafa Kamal MP as the chief guest, observed that the economy of Bangladesh is doing well and there is every prospects to do better if the existing and impending challenges and lack of reforms as well as disciplines are addressed. .
The seminar titled "How Bangladesh economy is doing," organised by The Daily Observer and DBC News television channel at hotel Intercontinental Dhaka on Sunday (March 8), had threadbare discussions on the country's economic achievements and its outlook amid existing challenges in its banking and stock market dealings due to governance lapses.  Assisted by Community Bank the dialogue was held at a time when the countdown to the celebration of the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is progressing.
This speakers also expressed concerns at the country's sluggish exports due to global slowdown and the impending affects of coronavirus outbreak,  which also has started seriously affecting imports of industrial raw materials crucial for sustaining the country's  apparel manufacturing and exports.
Noted economists, Chamber and business leaders, manufacturers,  exporters,  bankers, stock investors,  think tanks and  journalists put their comments, observations and apprehensions on the country's economy and its outlook. Senior Economist Dr.  Ashikur Rahman of Policy Research Institute (PRI) readout the key note paper.
