The country's edible oil traders had announced a reduction of Tk 2 per litre in soybean oil and palm oil price considering the ongoing situation in the country, said Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi on Thursday.

"From now on, soybean and palm oil will be sold from mill gate at the newly fixed price," he said while talking to journalists after a meeting with edible oil traders at the commerce ministry in the capital, said a press release.

Tipu said the ministry was working closely with traders to keep stocks, supplies and prices of essential commodities stable in the ongoing Covid-19 situation. As part of the regular review, discussions were held with edible oil traders, he added.
