Govt school admission thru' lottery postponed

Admission through online lottery system at government secondary schools across the country, scheduled for Wednesday (December 30), has been postponed.

The Department of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) confirmed the matter on its website on Tuesday night in a notice signed by Prof Syed Md Golam Faruki.

The circular said the scheduled digital lottery system was temporarily postponed as a writ petition on it was pending with the High Court. The new date and time of the lottery will be informed later.

Earlier, Education Minister Dipu Moni took the decision of online lottery system to avoid health risks amid coronavirus pandemic.
