The Dhaka University (DU) authorities have postponed all professional final MBBS examinations scheduled to begin today (Sunday) at Dhaka University affiliated medical colleges due to spike of corona infection across the country.
A press release signed by Md Rafiqul Islam, deputy director at the university's public relations office, on Saturday stated that due to increase in Covid-19 infection, the final professional exams of MBBS November-2020 and January-2021 scheduled for today (Sunday) have been postponed.
However, the first and second professional MBBS May-2020 and November-2020 oral and the practical test will be held maintaining health rules.
DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman said the university has accepted the recommendation from the dean of Medicine Faculty to postpone the examinations due to surge in Covid-19 cases.
DU Medicine Faculty Dean Prof Dr Shahriar Nabi said they have postponed the written examinations. 'Oral examination will be held following the heath guidelines. Only 10 to 15 examinees will face the oral test everyday,' he said, adding that fresh schedule of the postponed examinations will be announced later.
