Tourists throng Cox's Bazar to enjoy seashore beauty

COX'S BAZAR, Sept 17: The tourists of all ages including foreign and locals, had an opportunity of enjoying five-day holiday, and they went to Cox's Bazar to enjoy the seashore beauty.
The Sea City has now been replete with tourists during the vacation of Eid-ul-Azha.
Many people are enjoying the longest holidays for the Eid this year. All the private and public offices reopened on Thursday. But, tourists continued gathering at the tourist spots, and the district is still buzzing with foreign and local tourists, and the shopping malls and shopping centres have witnessed a brisk business as well, according to sources.
All hotels, resorts, guesthouses here are full with the tourists. There is hardly vacancy at any hotels or guest houses in the sea shore areas, the sources said.
One holidaymaker Saidul Islam, who came from Dhaka with his family, said that they were enjoying their Eid vacation very much here, but he claimed that the hotels owners were charging more for rooms.
Another tourist Ibrahim Bin Tushar said they suffered a lot to find a room as all hotels, resorts, guesthouses here are full with the tourists.
Sakhawat Hossain, an operation officer of Hotel Cox Today, said all rooms of the hotels and rest houses booked before 15 days of the Eid-Ul-Azha. "Many people come here as tourist to enjoy the holidays. Moreover the Eid holidays in the current year are also the pick time for tourism. So, the gathering of the tourists is more than earlier," he added.
Meanwhile, units of 'tourist police' are set to patrol the popular seaside resort of Cox's Bazar to provide additional security to holidaymakers alongside existing law enforcers.
Police officials said, "The tourist police will work with the general police to ensure security of the many tourists who visit the beach."  However, the teams of 'tourist police' are patrolling at the beach areas during the pick season of tourism now.
President of the Hotel and Guest House Owners Association Omar Sultan said there is a possibility of coming all the more tourists here. So far, the sea city has witnessed huge rush of holidaymakers during last one week and more to come in couple of days' time, he added.
