Massive security measures taken over N'ganj city polls: DC

Narayanganj deputy commissioner (DC) Mostain Billah has said the administration wants to assure all that all concerned including the law enforcing agencies are working hard to make Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) election on Sunday free, fair and impartial.

"Our monitoring  also continues. Election will be held in a free, fair and peaceful atmosphere. All kinds of preparations have been taken. Nine magistrates' teams and 30 police teams are working at the field level. We have already received 30 more magistrates. Besides, 76 police teams are working here. Moreover, 65 teams of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) are working here," he said.

The Narayanganj DC said 14 BGB teams are working at the field level. Besides, six more BGB teams will join on Sunday morning. Apart from them, six judicial magistrates will work here during the election.

Narayanganj DC Mostain Billah was addressing a press conference at the DC's conference room on Sunday afternoon.

He said, "We have succeeded to take all kinds of security measures so that the election would be free and fair. The tomorrow's election will be held very peacefully. We expect that voters will be able to cast their ballots in a festive atmosphere arriving at the polling centres from their houses."
