Two-day long second International Tourism Conclave, one of the biggest Tourism Conclave of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries, starts at Darjeeling in India on Monday.
The conclave was jointly organised by Eastern Himanaya Travel and Tours Operator’s Association (EHTTOA) and Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
EHTTOA president Debasish Maitra gave the welcome speech where GTA Chief Executive was present as the chief guest.
Conveners Vivek Subba, Supriyo Sarkar; ICC chairman Shri Nishant Mittal, IAS secretary Dr Saumitra Mohan, IAS district magistrate Darjeeling Shri S. Ponnambalam, GTA executive member Norden Sherpa, deputy Director of Tourism Shri Jyoti Ghosh and filmmaker Shri Anjan Dutt, among others, were present.
Sandipan Ghosh moderated the programme.
Speakers in the programmes said, “EHTTOA and ICC have worked hard together to make this programme a reality. We appreciate the support of our sponsors, members, fraternity colleagues and the support from the government to make this Conclave a truly unique platform for the promotion of cross border tourism.â€
“EHTTOA is the largest travel platform in East and North East India. Today, we have more than 300 active members and the association is growing with each passing day.â€
Besides, EHTTOA hosted the first Convention in August, 2019.
The main objectives of the convention are improvement of member’s interaction, growing a close bonding between EHTTOA and State and Central Tourism Departments.
