Halloween is a traditional day which Christian people Celebrate and people of other religions enjoy a holiday on that day, 31st of October. Before the enjoyable day comes, families keep themselves busy in decorating their houses from inside and outside, with pumpkins, gourds, hay bales and Indian corn.
Everyone dresses up in ghostly and creepy costumes, including the parents. Next, the children visit their neighbourhood with their costumes put on and they say, 'trick or treat' in order to get chocolates in their pumpkin baskets. In addition, all schools organize Halloween parties for some extra fun experiences, except in Bangladesh, sadly.
On the day, people focus on scaring and tricking others around them with their most realistic makeup of supernatural figures. At night, the scenario of the whole city would look really haunted, as if possessed by spirits. These make the day memorable and I can still recall the most embarrassing Halloween party that I have ever experienced in my life.
When I was young, I used to celebrate Halloween, grandly. I used to watch several videos on Halloween makeup and tried to copy paste that on my face, although I ended up looking just like a cockroach would. I always wanted to scare others on Halloween day by making myself look like a realistic spirit and to execute that plan of mine with all courage. So, one gorgeous day, I visited my neighbor's abode. With complete care did she opened the door and I shrieked, "Muh ha ha" right on her face. What a brilliant silence she faked for a minute or so, thinking of the feelings of a child who just had the right intentions in such a special day.
However, she burst out into a prolonged laughter when she couldn't control holding it back anymore. When she forced herself to stop eventually, I was welcomed warmly to come inside. As a little kid, I was perplexed the whole time, about what was really so hilarious? But later, I could comprehend how I had embarrassed myself.
After some minutes, she had finally disclosed that it was her father's birthday. I realized I had been dressed up like a zombie, wore makeup like a horrible insect and tied my hair like an ugly witch and after all that, I attended her dad's birthday. She even took a picture in that state of mine, sitting beside her dad and enjoying a grand piece of cake.
Moreover, I actually have to admit that celebrating Halloween is the best experience I ever had. It is the combination of every feeling of love, enjoyment, fear, amazement and so on. That's why I love Halloween from deep inside my heart, although I practice a different religion.
