Leaders and activists of Kaptai union unit Awami League (AL) and its associate organisations held a peace rally in the town on Saturday as part of the party's yearlong organisational programme ahead of the next general elections.
The rally was held in Natun Bazar area of the union in Rangamati district from 7am on Saturday.
Kaptai union unit AL General Secretary Akhter Alam said AL's district, city and upazila units' leaders and public representatives
joined the peace rally as part of their countrywide programme to protest the anarchy and conspirational politics of BNP-Jamaat party men and to remain vigilant on the streets during the programmes of BNP.
Kaptai union vice-president Sohel Ahmed, Joint secretary Rakibul Rahman Munna, among others, were present in the rally.
Meanwhile, leaders and activists of Gomostapur upazila unit Awami League (AL) held a peace rally in the town as part of party’s year-long programme ahead of the 12th national election.
The rally was held in front of the AL party near Rohanpur Colony intersection at
Gomostapur upazila of Chapainawabganj district on Saturday.
Chapainawabganj district Mohila Awami League general secretary Halima Begum, President of Rohanpur union unit AL Abdul Aziz, general secretary Golam Rabbani were present, among others, in the rally.
