Two persons were killed and six others injured as two buses collided head-on at Patiya upazila in Cox's Bazar on Friday morning.
The deceased were Abdul Hamid, 32, and Shahid 28. The injured are--Asika, 25, Forkal Uddin, 27, Md Arif, 22, Enamul Haq, 27, Ikamoni, 3, Abdul Kalam, 52.
Witnesses said the accident took place in Shantirhat area on Chattogram-Cox's Bazar Highway around 9.20am when a Chattogram-bound bus of 'Hanif Paribahan' from Cox's Bazar collided head-on with another bus of 'Nabil Paribahan', leaving eight people injured.
The injured were taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where doctors declared two dead. CMCH police outpost sub-inspector Nurul Alam Ashek said six others injured were now indergoing treatment in the hospital.
