A man was reportedly shot dead and four others injured as they protested for exploding the crude bombs in the name of celebrating Eid in Raipura of Narsingdi on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased was Julhas Mia, 30, son of Shams Mia of Nilakha area Birgram village. He was poultry businessman in the area.
The injured were--Saddam Mia, 32, Yameen Mia, 18, Habib, 16, and Raizuddin, 26. All were residents of the same village.
Relatives of the victim Julhas said some youths of the nearby Haripur-Dorigaon area were exploding crude bombs in front of Julhas’s poultry farm in Birgaon village on Saturday afternoon in the name of celebrating Eid.
Julsas along with locals protested the incident. The miscreants left the place but came again in that area and attacked Julhas with locally-made weapon 'Tota' and opened fired, leaving Julhas and four others injured.
Locals rescued the injured and took them to Narsingdi District Hospital where the doctors declared Julhas dead. Three people are now undergoing treatment .
Raipura Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Govinda Sarkar said they got the information that one killed in that incident. They have already visited the spot and investigating incident. They also continued their drive to nab the miscreants.
