11 bodies found on trawler in Cox’s Bazar coast

Police recovered at least eleven bodies of 'fishermen' on a trawler floating off Nazirertek Beach in Cox's Bazar on Sunday noon. 

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately. Cox's Bazar Municipality Ward no.1 Councillor Akter Kamal acknowledging the matter said at least eleven bodies were recovered. 

He said Cox's Bazar Sadar police and the fire service men are engaged in rescue work. 

Cox's Bazar Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam said being informed police went  to the spot and recovered the fishing trawler.

The official said that the bodies inside the trawler were decomposed. They suspected that the trawler was attacked by robbers at least 10 to 12 days ago. The police think that there are seven or eight bodies on the trawler.
Locals said that the fishing trawler went to sea for fishing at least 15 to 16 days ago.
