Auto-rickshaw driver found dead in Tangail

The deceased was Mohammad Monir, 15, son of Mohammad Rafiq of Rudra Boyra village in Jamalpur's Sarishabari upazila.

Locals found the body of Monir near Golabari Bridge beside Tangail-Jamalpur highway on sunday and informed the police.

According to family members, Monir went out with his battery-run auto-rickshaw on Saturday afternoon and did not return. They came to know about his death via a Facebook post.

Mazharul Amin, officer-in-charge of Madhupur Police Station, said several injury marks were found on the body. They suspected that criminals might have killed Monir for his vehicle and later dumped him near the highway, the official said.

The body was sent to Tangail General Hospital for autopsy.
