Three people, including a minor girl, were killed in two separate road mishaps in Chapainawabganj district on Monday.
The deceased were -- Afia, 4, daughter of Rafiqul Islam of Chapainawabganj sadar upazila, Jahid, 19, son of Saiful Islam of Dariapur Chowhodditola under Chapainawabganj municipality and Umar Faruk, 17, son of Kazipara village under Chapainawabganj sadar upazila.
Officer in Charge (OC) of Chapainawabganj Sadar Model Police Station Sajjad Hossain said the first accident took place in Ramchandrapur area under sadar upazila around 10.30am when two auto-rickshaw collided head -on, leaving 4-year old Afia dead on the spot. Afia was with her family members.
In another accident, Jahid and Umar Faruk riding on a motorcycle going to Shahjahanpur under sadar upazila. The accident occurred when biker lost control over the vehicle and hit a roadside tree at Narendrapur Pashchimpara in sadar upazila around 12.15 pm, leaving both of them dead on the spot.
Police recovered the bodies and sent them to the Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
