Eighteen held in DMP's anti-narcotics drive

Police in different drives arrested 18 people from the capital in 24 hours till Monday morning for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs, according to a press release..

Being informed, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaign in the city’s various areas and arresting drug sellers and abusers, said a DMP statement on Monday.
They seized 509 pieces of Yaba tablets and 66.47kg hemp from their possessions, the statement said.
According to the statement, a total of 13 cases have been filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
