Following a hat-trick of Nigerian striker Sunday Chizoba, the traditional sky-blue brigade Dhaka Abahani defeated Soccer Club, Feni by 5-1 margin in second phase meet of the JB Bangladesh Premier League on Monday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
After the win, topper Abahani stayed at the same position with 29 points from13 matches while Soccer boys remained at the 11th place with nine points from same number of matches.
The sky-blues took the lead in the 18th minute with winger Jewel Rana took control of a clearance and hit the net with a low shot.
They doubled the lead in the 26th minute with Sunday Chizoba perfectly utilised a low cross of Lee Tuck.
In the second half, Abahani scored three more goals.
Sunday struck his
second in the 54th minute and completed hat-trick scoring his third goal in the 62nd minute.
Before that, Nigerian midfielder Uche Felix reduced the margin for Feni Soccer in the 58th minute converting a low shot from the middle of the box.
Substitute midfielder Saad Uddin scored the fifth goal for Abahani in the 88th minute of the match.
Soccer boys were reduced to 10 men unit in the added time when their striker Chowmrin Rakhain was shown a direct red card for unprofessional action.
