Locomaster, asst. locomaster, guard suspended over Bhairab train collision

Bangladesh Railway has suspended the locomaster, assistant locomaster, and guard of the freight train involved in the Bhairab collision.

Bangladesh railway (BR) Director General Quamrul Ahsan said that they have taken the steps following preliminary investigation, online news portal reports.

He also said BR has formed two separate committees to investigate into the incident.

Dhaka Divisional office of Bangladesh Railway has formed a four-member committee to investigate Monday's train accident.

Dhaka Divisional Transport Officer Khairul Kabir will lead the committee.

The committee was asked to submit a report within three working days.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Railway East Zonal Office in Chattogram formed a five-member probe committee, led by Chief Operating Superintendent of East Zone Shahidul Islam.

The committee was asked to submit the report within five working days, the DG said.
