As part of its continuous effort to ensure workplace safety and security, BRAC Bank conducted a fire safety and emergency evacuation drill at its head office in Dhaka recently in collaboration with the Fire Service and Civil Defence Department.
Approximately 1,200 coworkers carried out an orderly evacuation to safety and some stranded employees were rescued, and fire aid applied as part of the drill, says a press release.
The Fire Service officials trained the bank employees about using fire extinguishing systems and first aid and shared knowledge about the best practices in firefighting and safety procedures.
Commenting on the safety initiative, Brig Gen Md. Amin Akbar (Retd), Head of General Services, BRAC Bank, said, ''Safety of coworkers carries a high priority at BRAC Bank.
Being a compliant and values-driven financial institution, BRAC Bank abides by all regulatory and safety provisions related to Fire Safety and other emergencies. Rehearsals like this would save lives, which matters the most.
As such, we regularly conduct such drills in all our premises across the country."
